4. The installation software informs you which applications
can be updated

, which can be upgraded

and which can
be installed for the first time.
5. You select application and language to update/upgrade/
install.
6. If the application is an upgrade or is installed for the first
time, you need to key in a 16 character license code (sup-
plied with your application software on a License Certifi-
cate).
7. The application software is installed on the Type2260.
8. You can repeat the last three steps and install other ap-
plications.
9. You terminate the installation software on the PC - the last
installed application will then start up on the Type2260.
Note: You can download the newest updates to your installed
application software from the Brüel & Kjær web-site: http://
www.bksv.com.
3.2.4 Using a Different Application
1. With the System menu on the display, press the <Appli-
cations> soft key.
2. The Applications menu appears (see Fig.3.2).
1 Updates of application software (minor new functionality and bug fixing) are newer
versions with the first digit of the version number unchanged from the earlier version.
Updates are free of charge and do not need a license code, e.g., Version 2.2 is an
update of 2.0, 2.1 and 2.1.1 etc., of the same application.
2 Upgrades of application software (major new functionality) are newer versions with
the first digit of the version number higher than the version number of the earlier
version. Upgrades can also be an application upgraded from another application –
regardless of the version of the other application. Upgrades need to be ordered from
Brüel&Kjær; you inform Brüel&Kjær of the serial number on the Type2260; you then
receive the application software, together with a license code. (The code is created
using a combination of the application and the serial number of the Type2260), e.g.,
Version 3.0 is an upgrade of version 1.0, 2.0 and 2.1 etc., of the same application,
Version 2.1 of BZ7206 can be an upgrade of any version of BZ7201 or BZ7202.
