Section 2
Testing
2.1 General
• In addition to the standard tool kit, special tools will be necessary for some operations. These tools will be supplied by the
manufacturer
• Tools and special tools supplied by the manufacturer are illustrated and listed under “Standard and Special Tools”.
2.2 Test Conditions
Ambient temperature: 25°C ±5°C
2.3 Procedure
2.3.1 Appearance
1) Check labelling.
2) Check overall dimensions.
3) Check electrical connections.
Note:
• For Type 4511-W-006, see Fig. 2 for specification of overall dimensions
• For Type 4524-W-001, see Fig. 4 for specification of overall dimensions
2.3.2 Transducer Sensitivity Control
The transducer must be calibrated at a temperature around 25°C ±5°C.
This calibration operation will not only test the transducer, but also the measurement chain “transducer-cable-DMAU”.
Control process:
1) Dismount the transducer from its bracket. Do not disconnect the electrical cable.
2) Using Calibration Exciter Type 4294, mount the transducer with a “finger-tight” mounting torque (max. 0.5 Nm) directly onto
the calibrator’s vibration table as shown in Fig. 5.
For 4511 W006, use the mounting adaptor WA-1740
For the 4524W001, use the mounting adaptor WA-1732
