9.1.1 Wireless Bridge UL-0230
Fig.9.1
Linksys WET54G Bridge,
UL-0230
The Linksys Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge WET54G acts as either an Access Point, Client
Point or bridge.
The bridge is able to run both 802.11b and 802.11g, meaning 11 Mbit/s and 54 Mbit/s and is
suitable for short to medium range. (For longer range see sections 9.1.2 and 9.1.3.)
Remember, this is a theoretical number; effectively you can get a maximum of 12
18 Mbit/s in 802.11g mode, corresponding to a measured peak throughput of 600 kHz chan-
nel × bandwidth product. This bandwidth is only obtainable when the two bridges are in
direct line of sight.
