PULSE Multi-analyzer System Type 3560-B/C/D/E – Installation and IDAe Hardware32
Note: The IDA BNT method (Fig.2.25 and Fig.2.26) requires 2 balanced cables fitted with
BNT connectors (such as AO-0158). The maximum length of a complete synchronization
chain is 100 m. Also, the master frame must be set to ‘Int’ and the slave frames to be set to
‘Ext’. See Appendix A.
Fig.2.24 or Fig.2.25 is displayed if the synchronization method is limited to AES/EBU or
IDA BNT, respectively. The radio buttons are disabled to avoid error. Click Next to continue.
Fig.2.26
Either AES/EBU or IDA
BNT method supported
Fig.2.26 is displayed when the hardware used allows for either type of synchronization
method to be used. Click the radio button that agrees with the synchronization cable setup
(see section 2.7.1). Click Next to continue.
Fig.2.27 is displayed when there is a conflict between synchronization restrictions and hard-
ware used. It will not be possible to set a method and the front-end will not be able to
measure. Click the Back button to resolve this conflict by deleting one of the conflicting
frames from the Multiple Frame Setup page (see Fig.2.23).
Once the synchronization method is chosen and you have clicked Next, you can review the
configuration on the final page of the program (Fig.2.28).
The last page summarises the PC and front-end configuration, and lists the versions of the
front-end software. Click the Finish button.
At this point the LAN connection has been tested and the system is ready for use.
