8.1.8 Wiring Two-wire (4-20 mA) Loop-Powered Transmitters
Connect 4 to 20 mA 2-wire, loop-powered transmitters, as shown below. The UMM provides power
(-24 Vdc) sufficient to power the transmitter. Inside the UMM the 4 to 20 mA current signal passes
through a 249-ohm sense resistor to create a -1.0 V to -5.0 V analog signal.
