WARNING
Beryllium
Beryllium is carcinogenic and causes diseases of the skin, splenic, liver and lungs.
u Never touch, inhale or incorporate fumes, dust or pieces of beryllium.
u Wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
u Do not touch any part of the instrument which contains beryllium, e.g. X-ray tube
radiation outlet window, the detector front window or the heating chamber windows
of some systems.
u Do not cut, machine, or handle beryllium in any way.
u It must not escape into the environment.
u Disposal of beryllium must comply with all applicable national, state, and local
regulations.
u Strictly obey the applicable national, state, and local safety regulations.
Above about 1400°C UV-radiation can be emitted by the heater. Outside the temperature
chamber at high temperatures avoid looking into the chamber and use eye glasses with
UV-filter.

u Do not look into the chamber.
