u If you do not have a motorized Z-stage,
1. Open the ratemeter (COMMANDER | Commander drop-down menu | Ratemeter)
and open the shutter.
2. Move the sample fully out of the beam.
3. Mark the count rate or save it by clicking the Save as reference button.
4. Close the shutter, move the chamber using the manual adjustment screw and check
the count rate again.
5. Repeat until the ratemeter shows 50% of the direct beam intensity.
