6.4 Configuring the Chamber in DIFFRAC.MEASUREMENT
CENTER
Normally, Anton Paar stages come preinstalled with a new system or will be installed by a
Bruker technician upon purchase. They should therefore be ready to use. If this is not the
case, or for some reason the chamber needs to be reinstalled in DIFFRAC.MEASURE-
MENT CENTER, we refer to chapter HTK-series, TTK 600, XRK 900, and HPC 900
Chambers [}100] of the Appendix / Service Details [}99].
6.5 Operation
NOTICE
Working with some heaters requires a shielding of the Kapton
®
window by a Graphite foil
or other precautions. Follow the instructions of your heater manual. Check the status of
the window foil and exchange it if looks burned to avoid breaking under vacuum!
NOTICE
Substantial damage of the heater
T, W and Graphite heaters require a high vacuum or oxygen free atmosphere.
u Start the vacuum pump and check the vacuum (P<10
-4
mbar is required) before
switching on the heater power!
For small temperature changes or temperature settings close to the limits choose a small
ramping rate e.g. 1°/s or less to avoid over/undershoot of the sample temperature.
Uncorrected sample height (Z-Position) will lead to slightly wrong lattice parameters!
