Why is my Bryan Furnace not heating the building enough?

  If your Bryan Furnace isn't warming your building sufficiently, it could be due to several reasons. The unit might be too small for the building's size, so check the specifications. Ensure the furnace produces 200°F air at the outlet (or 150°F for commercial or coal burners), indicating it's performing as expected. Insufficient insulation could also be the culprit, leading to heat loss, so consider reinsulating. Review the installation instructions to ensure proper setup and check for any hot air leaks.

  Excessive creosote or soot buildup in the stack of your Bryan Furnace can be attributed to several factors. Using green or wet wood, or burning softwoods high in resin, contributes to this issue. Poor draft and excessively long burning times are also causes. Ensure you're using seasoned, dry wood, or burn smaller charges at a higher temperature. If you must burn softwoods, do so in small, hot fires. Maintain a hotter fire, and ensure the flue pipe isn't too cool, which can be caused by improper piping. Never use a single wall pipe outdoors, and inspect the pipe from top to bottom for air leaks.
