If your vehicle is equipped with a
navigation system, then the radio
is integrated into that system's
control panel. See the separate
manual for the navigation system
and its radio for further
information.
Otherwise, your vehicle is
equipped with one of the
following possible radios.
• RDS Sound System with Hard
Disc Drive
The following pages describe the
sound system in your vehicle, and
how to get the best performance
from it.
In order for this feature to work,
the ignition must be on or
Retained Accessory Power must be
active.
See "Retained Accessory Power"
for more information.
Your vehicle is equipped with an
RDS radio. RDS stands for Radio
Data System, which encodes
information on the radio's FM
frequency.
RDS features are only available for
use on FM stations which broad-
cast RDS information.
In areas where the Radio Data
System is not available, your
radio's RDS (Radio Data System)
mode is not operable, and should
not be activated.
The displays shown in this manual
are typical. The actual displays in
your vehicle may vary depending
on the particular options included
in your vehicle and on the
language to which the system is
set.
Radios with a hard disc drive
contain a Gracenote
®
Database
that the radio uses to determine
the song, artist, album and genre
information.
