Your vehicle is equipped with a
deadbolt door locking system.
See "Deadbolt" later in this section
for more information.
If the theft deterrent system is
armed, remember to unlock the
doors with a transmitter to avoid
setting off the alarm.
See "Theft Deterrent System" in
Section 3 for more information.
Delayed Locking
This feature allows you to delay
vehicle locking for 5 seconds in the
event that the vehicle receives a
door lock command while a door
is open.
• If your vehicle is equipped with
a removable ignition key,
remove the ignition key.
• If your vehicle is equipped with
an ignition control knob, the
ignition must be off and the
keyless access transmitter must
be removed from the vehicle.
When the power door lock switch
or the lock button on the
transmitter is pressed while a door
is open, three chimes will sound
and locking will be delayed until
five seconds after all the doors
have been closed.
If any door is opened during this
initial delay, locking will again be
delayed until five seconds after the
last door is closed.
To override this feature and lock
the doors immediately, press the
power door lock switch or the lock
button on the transmitter again.
Your vehicle comes with this
feature activated. To turn it off, see
"Feature Customization" under
"Driver Information Center" earlier
in this section.
