- If your vehicle is equipped
with the keyless access
system, the vehicle's passive
locking feature can
automatically lock the vehicle
and arm the theft deterrent
system when you exit the
vehicle.
See "Keyless Locking" under
"Driver Information Center"
in Section 1.
3. Close all doors (including the
trunk and the hood).
The Security System Light will
shine steadily to indicate that
the system is arming.
The Security System Light will
go off in about 30 seconds.
When the light turns off, the
system is armed.
The theft deterrent system is not
armed if you lock the doors with a
key or the manual lock lever.
To disarm the system upon your
return to the vehicle, do one of the
following:
• Press the unlock button on the
remote keyless entry
transmitter (if equipped).
• Press the unlock button on the
keyless access transmitter (if
equipped).
• Start the engine.
• If your vehicle is equipped with
the keyless access system, the
vehicle’s passive unlocking
feature can automatically
unlock the vehicle and disarm
the theft deterrent system
when you approach the vehicle
with the transmitter.
