If an airbag inflates, you will need to
replace airbag system parts. See your
Cadillac Service Centre for service.
If the airbag readiness light stays on after
the vehicle is started or comes on when you
are driving, the airbag system may not work
properly. Have the vehicle serviced right
away. See Airbag Readiness Light 0 91.

Older Children
Correct Seat Belt Use for Older Children
To verify if a child is able to use a
lap-shoulder belt, make sure the child's
knees fold comfortably on the edge of the
seat. The shoulder belt should be positioned
between the neck and the child's arm and
the lap belt as low as possible over the
child's hip.

Accident statistics show that children
are safer if they are in the rear seat
and using a seat belt in a
suitable way.

Children not wearing a seat belt can
be thrown out in a crash.

Whenever a child is occupying a seat,
the lap belt should be in a low
position close to the hips, touching
the child's thighs. This prevents
loading to the abdomen in a crash.
