Overview

This document serves as a comprehensive instruction manual for a Candy tumble dryer, providing guidance on its safe operation, installation, maintenance, and various drying programs. It also includes information on troubleshooting and warranty.

Function Description

The Candy tumble dryer is designed for domestic use to dry household textiles and garments. It utilizes a drying cycle to remove moisture from laundry, collecting the water in a dedicated container. The appliance features various programs tailored for different fabric types and drying needs, including options for cottons, synthetics, wool, and specific items like shirts and jeans. It also incorporates energy-saving features, such as a cool-down cycle at the end of each program to ensure items are not damaged by excessive heat.

The dryer is equipped with Wi-Fi technology, allowing for remote control via the Candy simply-Fi App. This feature enables users to start, pause, and monitor drying cycles from their smartphone or tablet, offering convenience and flexibility. The appliance also includes a "Drying Manager" function on automatic cycles, which indicates the progress of drying through flashing light indicators corresponding to different dryness levels.

Usage Features

To operate the dryer, users first load laundry into the drum, ensuring the door closes properly. The program selector dial is then used to choose the desired drying program from a range of options. The appliance offers various dryness levels, including "Ready to Iron" (leaving garments slightly wet), "Dry Hanger" (ready to be hung), "Dry Wardrobe" (ready for storage), and "Extra-dry" (completely dry, ideal for full loads).

The control panel includes a START/PAUSE button to initiate or temporarily halt a cycle, a DELAY START button to postpone the start of a program for up to 24 hours, and a TIME CYCLE SELECTION button to convert automatic cycles into programmed ones. A MEMO button allows users to store preferred option settings for a cycle, which can be recalled later. The display shows the remaining drying time, postponed time, and other notifications.

For specific garment care, the dryer offers programs like "ECO COTTON" for energy-efficient drying of cottons and linens, "WHITES" for cottons, sponges, and towels, and "JEANS" for uniform drying of denim, with a recommendation to flip garments before drying. "DARKS & COLOURED" is a delicate cycle for dark and colored items, while "SYNTHETICS" provides accurate treatment for synthetic fabrics. The "SHIRTS" program is designed to minimize tangles and folds, suggesting immediate removal after drying. A "WOOLMARK" approved program is available for machine-washable wool products, with specific instructions on load size and garment preparation.

Rapid programs include "DAILY PERFECT 59'" for medium loads, "DAILY 45'" for daily clothes, and "SAVING 30'" for small loads, all recommending high-speed spinning before drying for optimal results. "REFRESH" and "RELAX" cycles are available for removing smells and smoothing creases, respectively. "SPORT PLUS" is dedicated to technical garments, and "SMALL" ensures even drying for very small loads.

The "SUPER EASY IRON" button activates alternate drum movements to reduce folds and automatically sets the drying level to "Ready to Iron," with an anti-crease movement that can extend up to 6 hours after the cycle ends.

The appliance also features a CHILD LOCK function, activated by pressing two specific buttons simultaneously, which locks the keys to prevent accidental changes during a cycle.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the dryer's efficiency and longevity. Users are advised to clean the fluff filter frequently after each use and empty the water container after every drying cycle. The condenser should also be cleaned regularly.

To clean the lint filter, it needs to be pulled upwards, opened, and the lint gently removed with a soft brush or fingertips before snapping it back into place. For the condenser filter, the kickplate must be removed, locking levers turned anti-clockwise to pull out the front cover, and the filter frame cleaned with a cloth. The sponge inside should be gently removed and washed under running tap water to remove dust or fluff. After cleaning, the front cover and kickplate are refitted.

After each use, the inside of the drum and door should be wiped with a damp cloth, and the door left open to allow air circulation. The outer machine and door should be cleaned with a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive pads or cleaning agents. To prevent the door from sticking or fluff buildup, the inner door and gasket should be cleaned with a damp cloth after every drying cycle.

The dryer includes indicator lights for filter cleaning and water container fullness, prompting users when these maintenance tasks are required. If the laundry is not drying effectively, checking for clogged filters is recommended. If filters are cleaned with water, they must be thoroughly dried before re-installation.
