Setting the IPTC Information
IPTC stands for International Press Telecommunications Council and refers to a standard for
communications and information exchange tags attached to images. The standard was
established by newspaper and communications companies to allow problem-free transmission
of images.
The IPTC tags can be attached to the RAW images taken with an EOS-1D. The owners name
and the date/time data is automatically included in the IPTC information as part of the data
specified in the camera setup functions settings in the [Basic Settings] tab sheet in the
[Camera Settings] dialog box. (5-4) The specified IPTC information can also be saved or
viewed on your computer.
