About Optional Units

This document provides a list of new optional units and describes their functions.
For details, refer to the User’s Guide for each optional unit available on the online manual website.
The types of optional units may vary in different countries or regions.
Inspection Unit
With the Inspection Unit connected, the quality of your prints can be inspected automatically based on the standard image
and settings.
• In order to use the Inspection System, you need a separate Inspection Tool.
• Depending on your printer model, you may need to connect a separate Cooling Unit in order to use the Inspection
System.
Cooling Unit
With the Cooling Unit connected, you can cool the printed paper sheets. By cooling the paper sheets, you can prevent
them from sticking together, increase the stacking capacity of the finisher/stacker, and reduce curling caused by the heat.
• Depending on the type of paper you use, you may not be able to increase the stacking capacity of the finisher/stacker.
Sensing Unit
With the Sensing Unit connected, the image position, colors, and other settings can be adjusted automatically.
• Depending on your printer model, you may need to connect a separate Cooling Unit in order to use the Sensing Unit.
