Advanced impositioning
The Advanced impose license enables you to make use of advanced layout and finishing settings
and have more control over how the job is printed.
If you have the Advanced impose license, the following advanced print job settings become
available on the control panel and in the Settings Editor:
1. Additional imposition templates: added booklet impositions as well as quarto and octavo (see
more information below);
2. Custom same-up imposition, which enables you to edit the gutter, change the number/
orientation of rows and columns, use the cut and stack functionality;
3. Trim shift and trim alignment which make it possible to define the custom sheet size after
trimming.
Imposition templates
Introduction
Imposition consists of an arrangement of pages on the sheet in order to obtain faster printing,
simplify binding and reduce paper waste. Correct imposition minimizes printing time by
maximizing the number of pages per impression.
You can configure an imposition template for your product on the control panel and via
automated workflow settings in the Settings Editor.
The table below describes the structure and arrangement of pages into default imposition
templates.
NOTE
The type of finisher and the finishing settings that you select directly influence your choice of the
imposition template.
