Function Description

The CANVAS Sandbanks 5-Piece Fire Table Set is an outdoor gas firepit table designed to provide warmth and ambiance for outdoor living spaces. It is intended for domestic, outdoor use only and operates on propane gas. The fire table is part of the CANVAS™ collection, which draws inspiration from Canadian living and aims to help users refresh their spaces with unique style.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Maximum Weight Limit: 100 lb (45 kg) per table.
  • Propane Cylinder Requirements:
    • Diameter: 12" (30 cm)
    • Height: 18" (46 cm)
    • Capacity: 20 lb of propane.
    • Must be constructed and marked in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) Specifications for Propane-Gas Cylinders or the Standard for Cylinders, Spheres and Tubes for Transportation of Dangerous Goods; and Commission, CAN/CSA-B339 as applicable.
    • Must be provided with a listed overfilling prevention device.
    • Must be provided with a cylinder connection device compatible with the connection for the appliance.
    • The cylinder supply system must be arranged for vapour withdrawal and include a collar to protect the cylinder valve.

  • Pressure Regulator: The pressure regulator supplied with this appliance must be used. Replacement pressure regulators must be those specified in this manual. The gas pressure regulator is set for an outlet pressure of 11 inches water column.
  • Burner: Must be inspected before each use and replaced if damaged. The replacement burner is specified in this manual.
  • Hose Assembly: Must be inspected before each use and replaced if there is evidence of excessive abrasion, wear, or damage. The replacement hose assembly is specified in this manual.
  • Tools Required for Assembly: Torque Wrench "D1" + Hex Screw "D2" (included), Screwdriver (not provided).
  • Assembly Personnel: 2 people are recommended for assembly.

Usage Features

  • Igniter Valve: The igniter valve should face the front left side of the appliance for proper operation.
  • Lava Rocks: Lava rocks (Item 11) are provided and placed into the steel cover. It is crucial that the fire shield on the burner system remains exposed and that the lava rocks do not cover the steel cover surface.
  • Cover: A cover (Item 10) is provided to protect the burner system when the fire is not in use or during rainy days.
  • Propane Tank Storage: The propane tank is secured within the fire table's bottom frame using a plastic screw. It must be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area, out of children's reach. Disconnected cylinders must have a dust cap secured at the end of the valve and cannot be stored in a building, garage, or any other enclosed area.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • For outdoor use only in a well-ventilated space; never use in enclosed spaces like campers, tents, cars, or homes due to carbon monoxide hazard.
    • Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors/liquids near the appliance.
    • A propane cylinder not connected for use should not be stored near the appliance.
    • If gas is smelled, shut off gas, extinguish open flames, leave the area, and call the gas supplier or fire department.
    • Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service, or maintenance can cause property damage, personal injury, or loss of life.
    • Never test for leaks with a flame; use a soap solution.
    • Keep the appliance area clear of combustible materials.
    • Solid fuels should not be burned in this gas appliance.
    • Both children and adults should be aware of high surface temperatures and keep their distance to avoid burns. Children should be supervised.
    • Clothing or flammable materials should not be hung from or near the appliance.
    • Any guard or protective device removed for servicing must be replaced prior to use.
    • Do not use the appliance if any part has been under water; call a qualified service technician.
    • The gas hose should not be in pathways where people may trip or be subject to accidental damage.
    • The tank must face a specific way when connected to the fuel supply hose.
    • To remove the fuel supply hose, rotate counter-clockwise and close the valve tightly before removing the tank.
    • To remove the tank, loosen the plastic screw from the tank-support assembly.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • Wash frame and wicker parts with mild soap and water.
    • Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
    • Do not use bleach, acid, or other solvents on the frame or wicker parts.
    • The burner should always be cleaned by disconnecting it from the appliance, using a cleaner to remove blockages from ports, and draining blockages from the gas inlet. A high-pressured stream of water may also be used.
    • Keep the control compartment, burners, and circulating air passageways clean at all times.
  • Off-Season Storage: Clean and dry the fire table before storing it in a dry, sheltered area.
  • Fastener Tightness: Check all nuts and bolts periodically for tightness and tighten them as required.
  • Touch-Up Paint: Touch-up paint for the table top (Item 12) is provided to repair scratches.
  • Inspections:
    • The appliance should be inspected before use and at least annually by a qualified service technician.
    • Periodic checks are required to ensure all connections are secured.
  • Warranty: The product carries a three (3) year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials on the frame, and a one (1) year warranty for the remaining parts. This warranty does not cover wear or breakage due to misuse and/or abuse.
