10001 Evaporator
Freeze Protection
There are several criteria for this alarm.
1. Tested whether the unit is ON or
OFF and all of the following condi-
tions have been met:
a. One of these conditions is true:
i. Entering Water Temperature is
less than the fluid freeze point
ii. Leaving Water Temperature is
less than the fluid freeze point
b. All of these conditions are true:
i. No communication alarms with
the SIOB
ii. The one (1) minute timer follow-
ing power up has elapsed.
2. The unit state is Delay, Off, or Stop-
ping and all of the following condi-
tions have been met:
a. Circuit A or Circuit B Saturated
Suction Temperature is less than
fluid freeze point
b. One of these conditions is true:
i. The evaporator heater has
been on for 10 minutes or more
ii. All of the following conditions
must be true:
1. Evaporator heater is not
installed or not configured
2. The evaporator flow switch is
open
3. Entering Water Temperature
is less than 46.4°F (8°C) or
Leaving Water Temperature
is less than 46.4°F (8°C).
3. If the evaporator heaters are com-
manded ON and the Cooler Heater
Current Sensing Relay does not
detect the appropriate current draw
indicating an Evaporator Heater has
failed.
Brine Freeze is 34°F (1.1°C) if Evapora-
tor Fluid Type [Main Menu
Configu-
ration Menu
Service Parameters] is
1 (Water). If Evaporator Fluid Type is 2
(Medium Brine) or (Low Brine), Brine
Freeze is a field configured under Brine
Freeze Setpoint [Main Menu
Config-
uration Menu
Service Parameters]
The unit is shut
down if it is running
or is not allowed to
start. The command
for the cooler pump
will remain ON.
Automatic for the first time
within a 24 hours or manual
if the alarm has occurred
more than once in the pre-
vious 24 hours, if the fol-
lowing conditions are met:
1. Entering Water Tem-
perature is greater than
the fluid freeze point
2. Leaving Water Tempera-
ture is 6°F (-14°C)
above the fluid set point
3. Circuit A Saturated Suc-
tion Temperature is
greater than fluid freeze
point
4. Circuit B Saturated Suc-
tion Temperature is
greater than fluid freeze
point
Manual reset is required if:
Leaving fluid temperature
is less than fluid set point +
6°F
If this condition is encountered, check the fol-
lowing items:
Confirm solution and concentration and
compare the value with Brine Freeze Set-
point [Main MenuConfiguration Menu
Service Parameters]
Check for a water flow issue, short circuit
or low water flow
Check to be sure there is refrigerant in
each circuit
Check the accuracy of the entering and
leaving water sensors
Check the accuracy of the Suction Pres-
sure Transducer
Check Evaporator heater operation
Check Evaporator Heater Current Sensing
Relay. Confirm proper settings (see Ap-
pendix H) and operation.
Check for a wiring issue for the Cooler
Heater, Cooler Heater Relay (CLR HTR),
and Cooler Heater Current Sensing Relay
(CLR HTR CSR)
10005 Circuit A Low Suc-
tion Temperature
Tested only when the circuit is ON.
The alarm will trip if one of these con-
ditions is met:
1. If the circuit is running and SST < –
22°F (–30°C) for more than 10 sec-
onds
2. If SST < –13°F (–25°C) for
30 seconds
3. If SST < Brine Freeze Setpoint –
6°F for more than 10 minutes
4. If SST < Brine Freeze Setpoint –
6°F, if capacity is =20%(minimum
load), set a timer to 3 minutes, else
set it to 90 seconds. At the end of
timer, if capacity is at 20% (min_-
load), set the alarm.
Circuit A shuts down Automatic, first occurrence
in 24 hours OR
Manual, if the alarm has
occurred in the previous 24
hours
In order for the unit controls
to reset, the circuit’s Satu-
rated Suction Temperature
must be greater than the
Brine Freeze Setpoint
minus 6°F (3.3°C).
If this condition is encountered, check the fol-
lowing items for faults:
sensor wiring to SIOB
board for faulty channel
faulty suction transducer
evaporator water flow switch
loop volume
EXV operation / blocked
liquid line refrigerant restriction, filter drier,
service valve, etc.
refrigerant charge
if the Leaving Water Set Point is above
40°F (4.4°C) and there is glycol in the
loop, consider using the Medium Tempera-
ture Brine option to utilize the brine freeze
setpoint instead of 34°F (1.1°C) for fresh
water (Main Menu

10006 Circuit B Low Suc-

10014 Customer Inter-
lock Failure
Tested only if EMM option is configured.
The alarm will trip if CCN variable
REM_LOCK is closed, and the unit is
running
Unit shuts down Automatic, first occurrence
in 24 hours OR
Manual, if the alarm has
occurred in the previous 24
hours
If this condition is encountered, check the fol-
lowing items for faults:
remote lockout switch is closed
(Connection EMM-J4-CH10)
10031 Unit is in emer-
gency stop
Tested when the unit is On and Off
The alarm will trip when the CCN com-
mand for an Emergency Stop is sent
across the network
Unit shuts down Automatic after the CCN
variable EMSTOP returns
to normal. The unit will be
normally restarted.
If this condition is encountered, check the fol-
lowing items for faults:
CCN Emergency Stop command
10032 Evaporator pump
#1 fault
Tested only when the unit is On
If the evaporator flow switch is failed
after the Off to On Delay period
(m_delay = Yes) while the pump is
commanded to be on then, the alarm
will be tripped.
The pump and the
unit will be stopped.
Manual If this condition is encountered, check the fol-
lowing items for faults:
interlock wiring circuit (SIOB-B J3)
control signal to pump controller (SIOB-A
J2)
evaporator pump contactor for proper op-
eration
control voltage for proper voltage
open chilled water flow switch (SIOB-A J3)
10033 Evaporator pump
#2 fault
