Allmovementsmustbecarriedoutcarefullywhenworkingunder,onornearthevehicleandwearprotectiveequip-
ment:helmets,gogglesandspecialfootwear.

Whencarryingoutcheckswiththeenginerunning,requesttheassistanceofanoperatorinthedriver’sseat.The
operatormustmaintainvisualcontactwiththeservicetechnicianatalltimes.
•
Ifoperatingoutsidetheworkshop,positionthevehicleonaatsurfaceandlockinposition.Ifworkingonaslope,
lockthevehicleinpositionandmovetoaatareaassoonasissafelypossible.
•
Damagedorbentchainsorcablesareunreliable.Donotusethemforliftingortowing.
Alwaysusesuitableprotectivegloveswhenhandlingchainsorcables.
•
Chainsshouldalwaysbesafelysecured.Ensurethatfasteningdeviceisstrongenoughtoholdtheloadforeseen.
Nopersonsshouldstopnearthefasteningpoint,trailingchainsorcables.
•
MaintenanceandrepairoperationsmustbecarriedoutinaCLEANandDRYarea,eliminateanywateroroilspillage
immediately.

Donotcreatepilesofoilorgrease--soakedragsastheyrepresentaseriousrehazard;storetheminaclosed
metalcontainer.
Beforestartingthevehicleorimplements,makesurethatthedriver’sseatislockedinpositionandalwayscheck
thattheareaisfreeofpersonsorobstacles.

Emptypocketsofallobjectsthatmayfallunobservedintothevehiclepartswhendisassembled.

Inthepresenceofprotrudingmetalparts,useprotectivegogglesorgoggleswithsideguards,helmets,special
footwearandgloves.

Handleallpartscarefully,donotputyourhandsorngersbetweenmovingparts,wearsuitablesafetyclothing--
safetygoggles,glovesandshoes.
WELDINGOPERATIONS
•
Whenwelding,useprotectivesafetydevices:tintedsafetygoggles,helmets,specialoveralls,glovesandfootwear.
Allpersonspresentintheareawhereweldingistakingplacemustweartintedgoggles.
NEVERLOOKATTHEWELDINGARCIFYOUREYESARENOTSUITABLYPROTECTED.
•
Wherepossible,removethepartortoolthatrequiresarcweldingfromthetractor.
•
Disconnectbothbatteryleads.Isolatethecableendstoavoidcontactwitheachotherandthetractor.
•
Positiontheweldergroundclampasnearaspossibletotheareawhereweldingistakingplace.
•
Removetheelectroniccontrolunitslocatedonthetractorifweldingistobecarriedoutnearthesecontrolunits.
•
Neverallowweldingcablestolayon,nearoracrossanyelectricalwiringorelectroniccomponentwhileweldingis
inprogress.
•
Metalcablestendtofraywithrepeateduse.Alwaysusesuitableprotectivedevices(gloves,goggles,etc.)when
handlingcables.
STARTUP
•
Neverstarttheengineinconnedspacesthatarenotequippedwithadequateventilationforexhaustgasextraction.
•
Neverplacethehead,body,limbs,feet,handsorngersnearfansorrotatingbelts.
ENGINE
•
Alwaysloosentheradiatorcapslowlybeforeremovingittoallowanyremainingpressureinthesystemtobedis-
charged.Coolantshouldbetoppeduponlywhentheengineisstoppedoridleifhot.
•
Neverllupwithfuelwhentheengineisrunning,especiallyifhot,inordertopreventtheoutbreakofreasaresult
offuelspillage
•
Nevercheckoradjustfanbelttensionwhentheengineisrunning.
Neveradjustthefuelinjectionpumpwhenthevehicleismoving.
