MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENTS
Batteries may produce explosive gases.
Ventilate when charging or using in a closed space. Keep batteries away from sparks, flames,
cigarettes, or other sources of ignition.
BATTERY MAINTENANCE
1. If the vehicle will not be used for a month or longer, remove the battery and store it in a
cool, dark place. Completely recharge the battery before reinstallation.
NOTICE:
A special battery charger (constant voltage/ampere or constant voltage) is required for recharging
a sealed‐type battery. Using a conventional battery charger may shorten the battery life.
2. Always make sure the connections are correct when putting the battery back in the vehicle.
JUMP‐STARTING
Jump‐starting the vehicle should be avoided.
The battery should be removed and charged instead.
To avoid battery explosion and/or serious damage to the
electrical system:
Do not connect the negative lead of the jumper cable to
the negative terminal of the battery
Do not touch the positive lead of the jumper cable to
the negative lead.
Do not reverse the polarity of the jumper cables when
connecting to the batteries.
