Channel Master CM-1030 User Manual

The Channel Master Coax Cable Tester is designed to identify,
trace and test coaxial cables. The tester is made up of two parts,
a tone/signal generator and a speaker. When the tone/signal
generator is placed on one end of a coaxial cable it will send a
tone/test signal over the cable which will identify the cable at the
other end with an audible tone when the speaker is connected.
The coax cable tester also has an LED indicator light which will
illuminate to identify a short circuit in the cable up to 5,000 feet
(1,500 meters).
This tester features the following:

• Voltage protected up to 52V DC
Instructions
1. Unscrew the detachable tone detector speaker from the base of the
unit. (The unit is now turned on and ready for use)
2. Using the main body tool with right angle male F push-on connector
attach to a wall plate or end of coaxial cable. (You may need to use
included F-81 Female-Female adapter.) (See Fig. 1)
*Note: If the LED indicator lights up without the tone detector speaker
connected to the other end of your coax, it either means you have a
“SHORT” in the wire, a splitter, or other self-grounding device in your
signal path. You won’t be able to detect by tone the continuity of your
cable until you eliminate the short or remove the splitter. If the LED
indicator DOES NOT light up, this means the cable is “Open” and you
will easily be able to connect the tone detector speaker to the other
end of the cable and identify the cable by the continuity between the
main unit and tone speaker.
3. Connect the Tone detector speaker to the other end(s) of your coaxial
cabletoconrmcontinuity.Thespeakerwillemitaloudtoneandthe
LEDattheotherendwillilluminateasconrmationthatcontinuity
existsoverthespeciedcoaxialcable.(SeeFig.2)

El comprobador de cables coaxiales Channel Master está diseñado para
identicar, rastrear y probar cables coaxiales. El comprobador se compone de
dos partes, un generador de tono / señal y un altavoz. Cuando el generador
de tono / señal se coloca en un extremo de un cable coaxial, enviará una
señal de tono / prueba por el cable que identicará el cable en el otro extremo
con un tono audible cuando el altavoz esté conectado. El probador de cable
coaxial también tiene una luz indicadora LED que se iluminará para identicar
un cortocircuito en el cable hasta 5,000 pies (1,500 metros).
Este probador presenta lo siguiente:
• El altavoz detector de tono desmontable identica la señal de transporte de
línea (continuidad)
• El generador de tono / señal envía una señal de tono / prueba por cable
coaxial
• La luz LED indica divisores, cortocircuitos de CC y otros dispositivos de
conexión a tierra en los cables
• Interruptor de ENCENDIDO / APAGADO integrado ubicado en el cuerpo del
mango de la herramienta, preserva la vida útil de la batería
• El conector a presión macho en ángulo recto es ideal para trabajar en áreas
reducidas
• El conector hembra a presión es perfecto para tonicar rápidamente
• Precisión de hasta 5000 pies (1500 m)
• Voltaje protegido hasta 52 V CC
1. Desatornille el altavoz detector de tono desmontable de la base de la
unidad. (La unidad ahora está encendida y lista para usar)
2. Con la herramienta del cuerpo principal con conector a presión F macho
en ángulo recto, fíjelo a una placa de pared o al extremo del cable coaxial. (Es
posible que deba utilizar el adaptador hembra-hembra F-81 incluido) (consulte
la gura 1).
* Nota: Si el indicador LED se enciende sin el altavoz detector de tono
conectado al otro extremo de su cable coaxial, signica que tiene un “CORTO”
en el cable, un divisor u otro dispositivo de conexión a tierra automática
en su ruta de señal. No podrá detectar por tono la continuidad de su cable
hasta que elimine el cortocircuito o retire el divisor. Si el indicador LED NO se
enciende, signica que el cable está “Abierto” y podrá conectar fácilmente el
altavoz detector de tono al otro extremo del cable e identicar el cable por la
continuidad entre la unidad principal y el altavoz de tono. .
3. Conecte el altavoz detector de tono al otro extremo (s) de su cable coaxial
para conrmar la continuidad. El altavoz emitirá un tono fuerte y el LED del
otro extremo se iluminará como conrmación de que existe continuidad en el
cable coaxial especicado. (Ver Fig.2)
