MAINTENANCE FEATURES
Cleaning the Interior Upholstery
In general, cleaning the entire seat
panel is recommended, starting from the
seams and moving into the stain to
avoid a ring effect after drying.
For the cloth fabric seats, in most
instances, soda water and a clean white
cloth will remove spots and spills.
For the sport cloth fabric seats, in most
instances, mild soapy water and a clean
white cloth will remove spills and spots.
For oil and grease spots, sprinkle baking
soda on the spot, and then brush and
wipe with a clean white cloth. See your
Owner Manual for additional cleaning
information.
See Section 5 of your Owner Manual.
Battery Location
The battery is located in the spare tire
well, under the load floor in the trunk.
Should it be necessary to jump-start your
vehicle, use the remote positive terminal
in the engine compartment. The nega-
tive cable can be connected to a heavy,
unpainted metal part of the vehicle.
See Section 5 of your Owner Manual.
Tire Pressure
The Tire and Loading Information label
lists the proper size, speed rating and
recommended tire inflation pressure for
the tires on your vehicle. This label is
located on the driver’s doorjamb. Over-
inflated and underinflated tires affect fuel
economy and vehicle handling as well
as promote tire wear.
See Section 5 of your Owner Manual.

from the Park position if the button is
pressed before the brake. The shift lever
will not shift out of Park if the ignition is
in the Lock position.
Manual Transaxle
When parking your vehicle, the system
prevents the ignition key from being
removed unless the shift lever is in
Reverse with the clutch pedal pressed in.
To park your vehicle, press down the
clutch pedal. Then move the shift lever
into Reverse and apply the parking
brake. With the vehicle in Reverse and
the clutch pedal pressed in, turn the
ignition key to Lock and remove the key.
To start your vehicle, hold down the
clutch pedal and shift into Neutral. Your
vehicle will not start if the clutch pedal is
not all the way down.
See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.
