IBA may increase vehicle braking in
s
ituations when it may not be necessary.
You could block the flow of traffic. If this
occurs, take your foot off the brake pedal
and then apply the brakes as needed.
AEB and IBA can be disabled through vehicle
p
ersonalization. See “Collision/Detection
Systems” under Vehicle Personalization 367.

Using A
EB or IBA while towing a trailer could
cause you to lose control of the vehicle and
crash. Turn the system to Alert or Off when
towing atrailer.
A system unavailable message may display if:
•
T
he front of the vehicle or windshield is
not clean.
•
Heavy rain or snow is interfering with
object detection.
•
There is aproblem with the StabiliTrak/
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system.
The AEB system does not need service.
Side Blind Spot Alert (SBSA) (If
e
quipped)
The vehicle may be equipped with the side
blind spot alert system.
The side blind spot alert system detects the
vehicles in the blind spot on the left and
right sides of the vehicle and give alerts.
Awarning sign is displayed on the exterior
rearview mirror to remind the driver that there
is avehicle in the blind spot (the vehicle
may not be directly visible in the interior and
exterior mirrors).
The sensors used by the side blind spot alert
system are located on the left and right side of
the vehicle bumper.
When the vehicle is overtaking or being
overtaken, if the system detects a vehicle in the
blind spot, the indicator lamp I on the
exterior mirror housing of the corresponding
side illuminates. If the driver switches the turn
signal, the indicator lamp I begins to flash,
warning the driver not to change the lane.

The system does not detect:
•
Vehicles outside the side blind zones
which may be rapidly approaching.
•
Pedestrians, cyclists or animals.
Before changing alane, always check all
mirrors, look over the shoulder and use the
turn signal.
