CAUSE
Improper fuel
Empty fuel tank or fuel tank vent blocked
Air in fuel system
Voltage not supplied to fuel solenoid or
fuel solenoid inoperative
Clogged fuel filter
Restricted or blocked fuel supply lines
Leaking injection lines, damaged lines or
loose connections
Wax buildup in fuel filter (cold weather
only)
Incorrect injection pump to engine timing
Malfunctioning air heating system
Injection sequence does not correspond
with firing order
Malfunctioning KSB valve
Low or uneven engine compression
Restricted or blocked fuel injection lines
Fuel injection pump malfunction or
not adjustable
Empty fuel tank or fuel tank vent blocked
Air in fuel system
Low idle speed

Drain fuel tank, flush system, fill with proper
fuel. Change filter
Fill tank, bleed system, check tank vent
Bleed fuel system
Correct voltage supply problem or
replace solenoid
Replace fuel filter
Remove restriction or replace lines
Replace damaged lines or tighten
connections as necessary.
Bleed fuel system
Replace fuel filter, use recommended
diesel fuel
Adjust injection pump timing
Repair air heating system
Install fuel injection lines in correct order
Replace injection pump
Repair as necessary
Remove restriction or replace lines
Replace fuel injection pump
Fill tank, bleed system, check tank vent
Bleed fuel system
Adjust idle speed
