Thedrivermustensurethatpassengersuse
the seat belts correctly and that they are all
restrainedsecurelybeforesettingoff.
Wherever you are seated in the vehicle,
always fasten your seat belt, even for short
journeys.
Donotinterchangetheseatbeltbucklesas
theywillnotfulfiltheirrolefully.
The seat belts are fitted with an inertia reel
permittingautomaticadjustmentofthe
lengthofthestraptoyoursize.Theseatbelt
isstowedautomaticallywhennotinuse.
Before and after use, ensure that the seat
beltisreeledincorrectly.
Thelowerpartofthestrapmustbe
positionedaslowaspossibleonthepelvis.
Theupperpartmustbepositionedinthe
hollowoftheshoulder.
Theinertiareelsarefittedwithanautomatic
lockingdevicewhichcomesintooperationin
theeventofacollision,emergencybraking
orifthevehiclerollsover.Youcanrelease
thedevicebypullingthestrapfirmlyand
thenreleasingitsothatitreelsinslightly.

Useasuitablechildseatifthepassengeris
less than 12 years old or shorter than one
andahalfmetres.
Neverusethesameseatbelttosecuremore
thanoneperson.
Neverallowachildtotravelonyourlap.

Inordertobeeffective,aseatbeltmust:
- betightenedasclosetothebodyas
possible,
- bepulledinfrontofyouwithasmooth
movement,checkingthatitdoesnot
twist,
- be used to restrain only one person,
- notbearanytraceofcutsorfraying,
- notbeconvertedormodifiedtoavoid
affectingitsperformance.
In the event of an impact
Depending on the nature and
seriousness of the impact, the
pretensioningdevicemaybedeployed
beforeandindependentlyoftheairbags.
Deploymentofthepretensionersis
accompaniedbyaslightdischargeof
harmlesssmokeandanoise,duetothe
activationofthepyrotechniccartridge
incorporatedinthesystem.
Inallcases,theairbagwarninglampcomeson.
Followinganimpact,havetheseatbelts
systemchecked,andifnecessaryreplaced,
byaCITROËNdealeroraqualified
workshop.
In accordance with current safety
regulations,forallrepairsonyourvehicle's
seatbelts,gotoaqualifiedworkshopwith
theskillsandequipmentneeded,whicha
CITROËNdealerisabletoprovide.
Haveyourseatbeltscheckedregularlyby
aCITROËNdealeroraqualifiedworkshop,
particularlyifthestrapsshowsignsof
damage.
Clean the seat belt straps with soapy
wateroratextilecleaningproduct,soldby
CITROËNdealers.
Afterfoldingormovingaseatorrearbench
seat, ensure that the seat belt is positioned
andreeledincorrectly.
