occupantsandtheairbags(achild,pet,
object...).Thiscouldhampertheoperationof
theairbagsorinjuretheoccupants.
After an accident or if the vehicle has been
stolenorbrokeninto,havetheairbag
systemschecked.
Allworkontheairbagsystemmustbe
carried out by a CITROËN dealer or a
qualifiedworkshop.
Evenifalloftheprecautionsmentioned
areobserved,ariskofinjuryorofminor
burnstothehead,chestorarmswhenan
airbagisdeployedcannotberuledout.
Thebaginflatesalmostinstantly(within
afewmilliseconds)thendeflateswithin
thesametimedischargingthehotgasvia
openingsprovidedforthispurpose.
Front airbags
Donotdriveholdingthesteeringwheelbyits
spokesorrestingyourhandsonthecentre
partofthewheel.
Passengersmustnotplacetheirfeetonthe
dashboard.
Donotsmokeasdeploymentoftheairbags
cancauseburnsortheriskofinjuryfroma
cigaretteorpipe.
Neverremoveorpiercethesteeringwheelor
hititviolently.
Donotfitorattachanythingtothesteering
wheel or dashboard, this could cause
injurieswithdeploymentoftheairbags.
For the airbags to be fully effective, observe the following safety rules:
Lateral airbags
Use only approved covers on the seats,
compatiblewiththedeploymentthelateral
airbags.Forinformationontherangeofseat
covers suitable for your vehicle, you can
contactaCITROËNdealer.
Refertothe"Accessories"section.
Donotfixorattachanythingtotheseat
backs(clothing...).Thiscouldcauseinjury
tothechestorarmsifthelateralairbagis
deployed.
Do not sit with the upper part of the body any
nearertothedoorthannecessary.
Curtain airbags
Donotfixorattachanythingtotheroof.This
couldcauseinjurytotheheadifthecurtain
airbagisdeployed.
Iffittedonyourvehicle,donotremovethe
grabhandlesinstalledontheroof,theyplay
apartinsecuringthecurtainairbags.
