F Extendthejack2untilitsheadcomesintocontactwiththejackingpointA or Bused;
thevehicle'scontactareaA or Bmustengagewiththecentralpartoftheheadofthejack.
F Raisethevehicleuntilthereissufficientspacebetweenthewheelandthegroundtoadmitthe
spare(notpunctured)wheeleasily.
Ensurethatthejackisstable.Ifthegroundisslipperyorloose,thejackmayslipordrop-

EnsurethatthejackispositionedonlyatoneofthejackingpointsA or B under the vehicle,
makingsurethatthevehicle'scontactsurfaceiscentredontheheadofthejack.Otherwise
