Going into engine START mode
The "ECO"warninglampgoesoff
andtheenginestartsautomatically:
- with a manual gearbox, when you fully
depresstheclutchpedal.
- with an electronic gearbox:
● controlonD,whenyoureleasethebrake
pedal,
● controlonNandbrakepedalreleased,
when you press control D,
● whenyouengagereverse.
STARTmodeisinvokedautomaticallywhen:
- youopenthethedriver'sdoor,
- youunfastenthedriver'sseatbelt,
- thespeedofthevehicleexceeds7mph
(11km/h)withanelectronicgearbox,
- somespecialconditions(batterycharge,
enginetemperature,brakingassistance,
ambienttemperature...)wheretheengineis
neededforcontrolofasystem.
Special cases: START invoked
automatically
In this case the "ECO"warninglamp
flashesforafewseconds,thengoes
off.
This operation is perfectly normal.
Beforedoinganythingunderthe
bonnet, deactivate the Stop & Start
systemtoavoidanyriskofinjury
resultingfromautomaticoperationof
STARTmode.
Thissystemrequiresa12Vbatterywitha
specialspecificationandtechnology(reference
numbersavailablefromCITROËNdealers).
FittingabatterynotlistedbyCITROËN
introducestheriskofmalfunctionofthe
system.
Forcharging,usea12Vchargeranddonot
reversethepolarity.
Maintenance
TheStop&Startsystemmakesuseof
advancedtechnology.Foranyworkon
thesystemgotoaqualifiedworkshop
withtheskillsandequipmentrequired,
which a CITROËN dealer is able to
provide.
