Installing a booster

Thechestpartoftheseatbeltmustbe
positionedonthechild'sshoulderwithout
touchingtheneck.
Ensure that the lap part of the seat belt
passescorrectlyoverthechild'sthighs.

Asasafetyprecaution,donotleave:
- oneormorechildrenaloneand
unsupervised in a vehicle,
- achildorananimalinavehiclewhich
isexposedtothesun,withthewindows
closed,
- thekeyswithinreachofchildreninside
thevehicle.
Topreventaccidentalopeningofthedoors,
usethechildlock.
Takecarenottoopentherearwindowsby
morethanonethird.
Toprotectyoungchildrenfromtheraysof
thesun,fitsideblindsontherearwindows.
Children at the front
Foroptimuminstallationoftheforwardfacing
childseat,ensurethatthebackofthechild
seatisascloseaspossibletothebackrest
ofthevehicle'sseat,orincontactifpossible.
Theheadrestraintmustberemovedbefore
installingachildseatwithabackrestonthe
passengerseat.
Ensure that the head restraint is stowed or
attached securely so that it is not thrown
around the vehicle in the event of sharp
braking.
Refit the head restraint as soon as the child
seatisremoved.
Thelegislationoncarryingachildonthe
frontpassengerseatisspecifictoeach
country.Refertothelegislationinforcein
thecountryinwhichyouaredriving.
Deactivatethepassenger'sfrontairbag
whenarearwardfacingchildseatisinstalled
onthefrontpassengerseat.Otherwise,the
childwouldriskbeingseriouslyinjuredor
killediftheairbagweredeployed.
The incorrect installation of a child seat in a
vehiclecompromisesthechild'sprotectionin
theeventofanaccident.
Checkthatthereisnoseatbeltorseatbelt
buckleunderthechildseatasthiscould
destabiliseit.
Remembertofastentheseatbeltsorthe
child seat harnesses keeping the slack in
relationtothechild'sbodyto a minimum,
evenforshortjourneys.
Fortheinstallationofachildseatusinga
seat belt, ensure that this is well tensioned
onthechildseatandthatitisholdingthe
childseatfirmlyagainsttheseatofyour
vehicle.Ifyourfrontpassengerseatis
adjustable,moveitforwardifnecessary.
At the rear seats, always leave sufficient
spacebetweenthefrontseatand:
- arearwardfacingchildseat,
- the feet of a child seated in a forward
facingchildseat.
Forthis,movethefrontseatforwardandif
necessarystraightenitsbackrest.
