Limit the causes of excess consumption
Spreadloadsthroughoutthevehicle;placetheheaviestitemsinthe
bottomoftheboot,ascloseaspossibletotherearseats.
Limittheloadscarriedinthevehicleandreducewindresistance(roof
bars,roofrack,bicyclecarrier,trailer...).Usearoofboxinpreference.
Removeroofbarsandroofracksafteruse.
Attheendofwinter,removesnowtyresandrefityoursummertyres.
Observe the recommendations on
maintenance
Checkthetyrepressuresregularly,whencold,referringtothelabelin
thedooraperture,driver'sside.
Carryoutthischeckinparticular:
- beforealongjourney,
- ateachchangeofseason,
- afteralongperiodoutofuse.
Don'tforgetthesparewheelandthetyresonanytrailerorcaravan.
Haveyourvehicleservicedregularly(engineoil,oilfilter,airfilter,
passengercompartmentfilter...)andobservethescheduleof
operationsinthepersonalisedservicingscheduleforyourvehicle.
WithaBlueHDiDieselengine,iftheSCRsystemdevelopsafault,
yourvehiclebecomespolluting;gotoaCITROËNdealeroraqualified
workshopwithoutdelaytohavetheemissionsofnitrousoxidesbrought
withinthelimitssetbythedirective.
Whenrefuelling,donotcontinueafterthethirdcut-offofthenozzleto
avoidanyoverflow.
Atthewheelofyournewvehicle,itisonlyafterthefirst1800miles
(3000kilometres)thatyouwillseethefuelconsumptionsettledownto
aconsistentaverage.
