Going into engine
STOP mode
The "ECO"warninglampcomeson
intheinstrumentpanelandtheengine
goesintostandbyautomatically:
- with a manual gearbox, when stationary,
in neutral, and you release the clutch
pedal.
- with an electronic gearbox, when
stationaryoratspeedsbelow5mph
(8km/h)(dependingonversion),inneutral
(control on N)orwhenyoupressthebrake
pedal.
NeverrefuelwiththeengineinSTOP
mode;youmustswitchofftheignition
withthebutton.
Foryourcomfort,duringparking
manoeuvres,STOPmodeisnot
available for a few seconds after
comingoutofreversegear.
STOPmodedoesnotaffectthethe
vehicle'ssystems,suchasforexample,
braking,powersteering...
Special cases: STOP mode not
available
STOPmodeisnotinvokedprincipallywhen:
- thevehicleisonasteepslope(risingor
falling),
- thedriver'sdoorisopen,
- thedriver'sseatbeltisnotfastened,
- thevehiclehasnotexceeded6mph
(10km/h)sincethelastenginestartbythe
driver,
- theengineisneededtomaintaina
comfortabletemperatureinthepassenger
compartment,
- demistingisactive,
- somespecialconditions(batterycharge,
enginetemperature,brakingassistance,
ambienttemperature...)wheretheengineis
neededtoassurecontrolofasystem.
In this case, the "ECO"warning
lampflashesforafewsecondsthen
goesoff.
This operation is perfectly normal.
TheStop&Startsystemputstheenginetemporarilyintostandby-STOPmode-duringstopsinthetraffic(redlights,trafficjams,
orother...).Theenginerestartsautomatically-STARTmode-assoonasyouwanttomoveoff.Therestarttakesplaceinstantly,quickly
andsilently.
Perfectforurbanuse,theStop&Startsystemreducesfuelconsumptionandexhaustemissionsaswellasthenoiselevelwhen
stationary.
