Toassurerespectfortheenvironmentand
conformitywiththenewEuro6emissions
standard,withoutadverselyaffectingthe
performanceorfuelconsumptionofDiesel
engines,CITROËNhastakenthedecisionto
equipitsvehicleswithaneffectivesystemthat
associatesSCR(SelectiveCatalyticReduction)
withaparticlefilter(FAP)forthetreatmentof
exhaustgases.
Presentation of the SCR system
UsinganadditivecalledAdBlue
®
containingurea,
a catalytic converter turns up to 85% of nitrous
oxides(NOx)intonitrogenandwater,whichare
harmlesstohealthandtheenvironment.
Once the AdBlue
®
tankisempty,a
systemrequiredbyregulationsprevents
startingoftheengine.
If the SCR is faulty, the level of
emissionsfromyourvehiclewillno
longermeettheEuro6standard:you
vehiclebecomespolluting.
Intheeventofaconfirmedfault
withtheSCRsystem,youmustgo
toaCITROËNdealeroraqualified
workshopassoonaspossible:aftera
runningdistanceof650miles
(1100km),asystemwillbetriggered
automaticallytopreventenginestarting.
The AdBlue
®
additive is held in a special
tanklocatedunderthebootattherearof
thevehicle.Ithasacapacityof17litres:this
providesadrivingrangeofabout12500miles
(20000km),afterwhichanalertistriggered
warningyouwhenthereserveremainingis
enoughforjust1500miles(2400km).
Duringeachscheduledserviceofyourvehicle
byaCITROËNdealeroraqualifiedworkshop,
the AdBlue
®
additivetankisrefilledinorderto
allownormaloperationoftheSCRsystem.
Iftheestimatedmileagebetweentwoservices
isgreaterthan12500miles(20000km),we
recommendthatyougotoaCITROËNdealer
oraqualifiedworkshoptohavethenecessary
top-upcarriedout.
