Thedrivermustensurethatpassengersuse
theseatbeltscorrectlyandthattheyareall
restrainedsecurelybeforesettingoff.
Whereveryouareseatedinthevehicle,
always fasten your seat belt, even for short
journeys.
Donotinterchangetheseatbeltbucklesas
theywillnotfulfiltheirrolefully.
Theseatbeltsarefittedwithaninertiareel
permittingautomaticadjustmentofthelength
ofthestraptoyoursize.Theseatbeltis
stowedautomaticallywhennotinuse.
Beforeandafteruse,ensurethattheseat
beltisreeledincorrectly.
Thelowerpartofthestrapmustbe
positionedaslowaspossibleonthepelvis.
Theupperpartmustbepositionedinthe
hollowoftheshoulder.
Theinertiareelsarefittedwithanautomatic
lockingdevicewhichcomesintooperationin
theeventofacollision,emergencybraking
orifthevehiclerollsover.Youcanrelease
thedevicebypullingthestrapfirmlyandthen
releasingitsothatitreelsinslightly.
Inordertobeeffective,aseatbeltmust:
- betightenedasclosetothebodyas
possible,
- bepulledinfrontofyouwithasmooth
movement,checkingthatitdoesnot
twist,
- beusedtorestrainonlyoneperson,
- notbearanytraceofcutsorfraying,
- notbeconvertedormodifiedtoavoid
affectingitsperformance.
Inaccordancewithcurrentsafetyregulations,
forallrepairsonyourvehicle'sseatbelts,go
toaqualifiedworkshopwiththeskillsand
equipmentneeded,whichaCITROËNdealer
isabletoprovide.
Haveyourseatbeltscheckedregularlyby
aCITROËNdealeroraqualifiedworkshop,
particularlyifthestrapsshowsignsof
damage.
Clean the seat belt straps with soapy water or
atextilecleaningproduct,soldbyCITROËN
dealers.
Afterfoldingormovingaseatorrearbench
seat,ensurethattheseatbeltispositioned
andreeledincorrectly.

for children
Useasuitablechildseatifthepassengeris
lessthan12yearsoldorshorterthanone
andahalfmetres.
Neverusethesameseatbelttosecure
morethanoneperson.
Neverallowachildtotravelonyourlap.

In the event of an impact
Depending on the nature and
seriousness of the impact, the
pretensioningdevicemaybedeployed
beforeandindependentlyoftheairbags.
Deploymentofthepretensionersis
accompaniedbyaslightdischargeof
harmlesssmokeandanoise,duetothe
activationofthepyrotechniccartridge
incorporatedinthesystem.
Inallcases,theairbagwarninglamp
comeson.
Followinganimpact,havetheseatbelts
systemchecked,andifnecessaryreplaced,
byaCITROËNdealeroraqualified
workshop.
