Features common to SSS501 and SSS601 midrange drivers
1 Rubber Surround - Allows for linear operation through a wide variety of temperatures. Does not
dry out due to exposure to UV Radiation
2 Composite Cone Design - The cone is made from Glass Fiber bonded to an expanded PMI foam
core to offer excellent damping characteristics while maintaining rigidity and low mass.
3 Fixed Phase Plug - Eliminates the need for a dust cap, thereby removing mass from the cone for
better transient response. Improves off-axis response by deflecting midrange frequencies laterally.
4 Linear Spider with Woven Tinsel Leads - Ensures completely silent operation and cone control
even at high excursion levels.
5 26mm 4-Layer Voice Coil on ASV Former- Provides good power handling while reducing the
effects of power compression. ASV is a low-mass material capable of handling significant amounts of heat
without distortion.
6 Spring Loaded Terminals - Ensures a solid connection that will not loosen over time.
7 Custom Tooled Rubber Magnet Boot - Protects magnet from damage during installation and pro-
vides additional damping to motor assembly
8 Cast Aluminum Basket - Provides a low-resonance foundation for the speaker. Will not warp or
distort during installation.
9 Extended Bottom Plate - Allows for more excursion due to increased distance between the bottom
plate and the voice coil former.
