If your Club Car Golf Cars handset is locked up and the buttons aren't responding, it could be due to a handset malfunction. Try disconnecting the CDT cord from the vehicle, waiting a few seconds, and then reconnecting the handset. Other potential causes include loose terminals or corrosion on the vehicle batteries, improperly wired batteries, failed batteries, or batteries that are not fully charged. A speed controller malfunction could also be the reason.
