This document is an installation guide for the Colnago CC.01 Handlebar, a component designed for bicycles. The guide provides detailed, step-by-step instructions for installing the handlebar and its associated components, including the fork expander, headset, and a universal mount.

Function Description:

The Colnago CC.01 Handlebar is a bicycle component that integrates the handlebar and stem into a single unit, designed for optimal aerodynamics and a clean aesthetic. It serves as the primary control interface for steering the bicycle and provides mounting points for brake levers, shifters, and accessories. The design incorporates internal cable routing for a streamlined appearance and protection of the cables. The handlebar is designed to work in conjunction with a fork expander and a headset system, ensuring secure attachment and smooth steering.

Important Technical Specifications:

The guide provides specific measurements and torque values crucial for correct installation:

Screws: M6 screws are used for securing the metallic plates that hold the handlebar in position.
Allen Keys:
- 3 mm Allen key for M6 screws.
- 6 mm Allen key for the fork expander.
- 5 mm Allen key for the metallic sleeve and headset preload.
- 4 mm Allen key for the universal mount bolt.
- 3 mm Allen key for the universal mount bolt (final tightening).
Torque Values:
- Fork expander: 4 Newton Meters (Nm).
- Handlebar rear screws: 6 Newton Meters (Nm).
- Universal mount bolt (M5 x 0.8): 3 Newton Meters (Nm).
Handlebar Dimensions (example from image):
- Stem: 130 mm
- Angle: 84°
- Handlebar width: 410 mm
- Drop: 122 mm
- Reach: 80 mm
Headset Spacing:
- Minimum gap between fork tube and handlebar upper surface: 2 mm (for headset compression).
- Maximum spacers allowed under the stem: 30 mm.
- Maximum spacers allowed over the fork (with specific top cap): 15 mm.

Usage Features:

The Colnago CC.01 Handlebar is designed for a precise and integrated fit, emphasizing the following usage features:

Integrated Design: The handlebar and stem are a single unit, contributing to a sleek look and potentially improved aerodynamic performance.
Internal Cable Routing: Cables from brake levers and shifters are routed into the compression ring and Ceramcspeed bottom spacer, then run in front of the fork, providing a clean and protected setup.
Headset Preload System: The installation process involves a specific method for preloading the headset bearings to eliminate play while ensuring smooth steering. This is achieved by maintaining a 2 mm gap between the fork tube and the handlebar's upper surface, allowing the preload sleeve to compress the bearings.
Accessory Mount: A universal mount can be attached to the handlebar, likely for accessories such as bike computers or lights. This mount is secured with an M5 x 0.8 bolt.
Multitool Integration: The system allows for the integration of a multitool within the top cap, providing convenient access to essential tools. The multitool includes a valve core removal tool.

Maintenance Features:

While the document primarily focuses on installation, some aspects touch upon maintenance considerations:

Threadlocker: The M6 screws for the metallic plates require threadlocker, indicating a measure to prevent loosening over time due to vibrations.
Cleanliness: For the fork expander installation, it is explicitly stated to "Make sure no grease or contaminants are present on the inner surface of the fork tube," which is a critical step for proper friction and secure tightening.
Torque Specifications: The provision of precise torque values for all bolts is a key maintenance feature, ensuring components are tightened correctly to prevent damage, premature wear, or loosening during use.
Headset Adjustment: The instructions for tightening the metallic sleeve to eliminate play from the headset, but "not too much to make the steering rough," highlight the importance of proper headset adjustment for long-term performance and bearing life.
O-ring Seal: The multitool is sealed in place by a rubber o-ring, which helps protect the internal components from dirt and moisture.
