BURST OF STEAM
For more difficult fabrics, simply press the
lever on the T-nozzle for an additional burst
of steam.
NOTE: Be sure to test fabric for colorfastness
in an inconspicuous spot before steaming.
Drape linens, towels, handkerchiefs and
napkins over a rod or place on a towel rack.
Heavier fabrics may require repeated steam-
ing. Repeat as necessary.
With practice, you will gain speed and
efficiency. You will soon learn which
fabrics require multiple steam applications.
Do not directly touch velvet or silk with the
steam head.
Always steam with hose in upright
position so any condensation is free
to flow back into the steamer.
If you steam with the hose in a low posi-
tion, condensation will collect inside the
hose. This will cause gurgling and some
water droplets to form near the steam jets
on the handle. To avoid this, frequently lift
the steam handle upward until the hose is
extended to its full height.

HOW TO STEAM
Grasp the handle of the steam nozzle with
the steam jets facing away from you.
Always hold the nozzle about 1/2 inch
away from fabric during steaming.
Begin at the bottom of the fabric, allowing
the steam to rise inside and outside to
remove wrinkles. Slowly move the nozzle
from the bottom to the top of the fabric.
Remove the nozzle from the garment and
smooth the fabric with your free hand. Some
fabrics are best steamed on the underside of
the material. This will allow the fibers of the
fabric to relax, eliminating wrinkles.
CLEANING AND STORING
I. Turn the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position
and unplug from the power source.
2. Wait for the steamer to cool completely (at
least 30 minutes).
3. Unplug power cord.
4. Remove the steamer hose.
5. Remove the water tank from unit, unscrew
valve and empty unused water. Allow to air-dry.
6. Remove excess water from the base of
unit by unscrewing the plug on the bottom of
the steamer (A) and letting the water drain
into the sink or bathtub.
7. Collapse telescopic hanger rod.
8. Return water tank to the unit.
9. Store the unit.
OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES
During operation, the steamer hose may
gurgle. This is a normal result of condensa-
tion collecting inside the hose. Simply lift the
handle upward until the hose is extended to
its full height. The gurgling will stop when
the excess moisture inside the hose has had
a chance to drain back into the base.
DECALCIFICATION
If the appliance begins to produce steam
more slowly than usual or stops producing
steam and then starts again, you may need
to decalcify your steamer. Decalcification
refers to removing the calcium deposits that
form over time. For best performance from
the Conair
®
Ultimate Professional Steamer,
decalcify the unit from time to time. The
frequency depends upon how often you use
the steamer.
To decalcify, add a solution of 1/3 white vin-
egar and 2/3 water to the water tank. Return
the water tank to the unit. Plug the unit into
an electrical outlet. Turn to the ON position
and run until half the amount has steamed
(1 liter). Turn the unit to the OFF position,
unplug from electrical outlet, and allow to sit
for 30 minutes. Remove water tank.

Repeat the above
procedure as many
times as necessary
until a normal steam rate returns, usually
2–3 times. With each repeated cycle, use a
fresh solution of vinegar and water.
NOTE: Run one cycle of fresh, cold water
through the unit at the completion of decalci-
fication before using the unit again to steam
garments.
TO STEAM DRAPES AND CURTAINS
Wash and dry drapes as directed, accord-
ing to fabric type. Rehang drapes and steam
when they are in place.
TO KILL BEDBUGS OR DUST MITES
Steam is a contact killer that can kill dust
mites, bedbugs and eggs. It must hit bugs
directly. When steaming to kill bedbugs,
areas to concentrate on are seams, edges,
and folds in the fabric. Direct the steamer
nozzle about ½ inch from the fabric to be
steamed. Hold the steamer head at a minor
angle up off of the surface. Do not hold flush
against the surface. Move at about an inch
per second and steam the entire area that is
infested. Check each section after steaming.
The surface should be warm to the touch.
If it’s cool, you’re moving too fast. Move
the steamer head from top to bottom of the
object you’re steaming. (Steam rises!) Be
cautious of surfaces that you can’t steam,
such as finishes on furniture, leather, certain
paints. Test on an inconspicuous area before
steaming the entire object.
NOTE: You may have to repeat the process
for best results.
CAUTION: Hose will be hot when
in use. Avoid prolonged contact.
NOTE: Amounts of chemicals in water will
vary in different areas. To ensure contin-
ued operation of the steamer, never store
without cleaning and removing excess
water from the reservoir and water tank.

Mueva la boquilla lentamente de abajo
hacia arriba, por dentro y por fuera. Para
terminar, aleje la boquilla y alise la tela con
la palma de su mano. Algunos tejidos son
más fáciles de desarrugar por dentro. Hacer
esto relaja las fibras, lo que ayuda a eliminar
las arrugas.
LIMPIEZA Y ALMACENAMIENTO
Apague (“OFF”) y desenchufe el aparato
antes de limpiarlo.
2. Permita que el aparato se enfríe por
completo (por un mínimo de 30 minutos).
3. Desenchufe el cable.
4. Desconecte la manguera.
5. Retire el depósito de agua de la base,
desentornille la tapa y tire el agua restante.
Permita que se seque al aire.
6. Retire la tapa debajo de la unidad (A) para
vaciar el depósito interno.
7. Repliegue el soporte/tubo telescópico.
8. Vuelva a colocar el depósito de agua en
la unidad.
9. Guarde el aparato.
IMPORTANTE
Puede que la manguera borbote durante
el uso; esto es el resultado normal de la
acumulación de condensación en la misma.
En caso de que esto suceda, simplemente
levante la manguera hasta que quede
completamente extendida; esto permitirá
que la condensación baje hacia el depósito
de agua.
DESCALCIFICACIÓN
Si nota que el aparato produce menos vapor
o funciona de manera intermitente, puede
ser necesario descalcificar el depósito de
agua para eliminar el calcio/sarro. Con el
tiempo, depósitos de calcio/sarro pueden
acumularse. Para lograr un rendimiento
óptimo, deberá eliminarlos regularmente. La
frecuencia de la descalcificación dependerá
de la frecuencia de uso del aparato.
Para descalcificar la unidad: Mezcle 1/3
de vinagre blanco con 2/3 de agua y vierta
la mezcla en el depósito de agua. Instale
el depósito de agua en la unidad. Enchufe
el cable en una toma de corriente. Deje
el aparato encendido (“ON”) hasta que la
mitad del líquido (1 L) se haya evaporado. A
continuación, apague (“OFF”) y desenchufe
el aparato, y permita que se enfríe por 30
minutos. Retire el depósito de agua.

El vapor caliente puede matar por contacto
los ácaros, las chinches y sus huevos,
siempre que haga contacto directo con
ellos. Al aplicar vapor en una tela para
matar chinches, concentre el vapor hacia
las costuras, los bordes y los pliegues.
Coloque la boquilla a aprox. ½ in. (1.5 cm)
de la tela. Sostenga la unidad en un leve
ángulo; no lo sostenga directamente contra
la superficie. Trate con vapor toda el área
infestado, moviendo la unidad aprox. 1 in.
(2.5 cm) por segundo. Chequee cada sección
después de aplicar vapor; la superficie
debería estar ligeramente caliente. Si no lo
está, esto significa que está moviendo la
unidad demasiado rápido. Siempre mueva la
unidad desde arriba hasta abajo, ya que el
vapor sube. Tenga un cuidado especial con
las superficies que puedan ser sensibles al
vapor, tales como el acabado de los muebles,
el cuero y algunas pinturas. Pruebe el vapor
en un área discreta antes de tratar el objeto/
mueble entero.
