  Your Cooper & Hunter Air Conditioner might not be turning on due to a few reasons. Firstly, there's a 3-minute protection feature to prevent overloading, so the unit can't be restarted within three minutes of being turned off; wait three minutes before trying again. Secondly, if the Operation light and PRE-DEF indicators are lit (for Cooling and Heating Models), or the “Fan Only” indicator is lit (in Cooling-only Models), the outdoor temperature might be too cold, activating the unit’s anti-cold wind or anti-freeze protection to defrost; in this case, wait until the outdoor temperature rises.

  Your Cooper & Hunter Air Conditioner may switch from COOL to FAN mode for two primary reasons. It could be preventing frost from forming, in which case, allow it to operate in FAN mode until the temperature increases. Alternatively, the set temperature may have been reached, causing the compressor to turn off; the unit will resume operation when the temperature fluctuates again, so wait for the temperature to change.
