I. "training
• Read the Instructionscarefully. Be familiarwith the
controlsandthe properuseofthe equipment.
• Never allow childrenor people unfamiliarwith the
Instructionstousethelawnmower.Localregulatfens
mayrestrictthe ageoftheoperator.
• Never mowwhilepeople,sspaclally children,or pets
ere nearby.
• KeepIn mindthatthe operatoror userIsresponsible
foreccldentaor hazardsoccurringto otherpeopleor
their property.
IL Preparation
• Whilemowing,alwaysweareubstantlalfootwearand
longtrousers. Do not operatethe equipmentwhen
barefootor weadngopensandals.
• Thoroughlylnspecttheareawheretheequipment isto
be usedandremoveallobjectswhichmaybe thrown
bythemachine.
• WARNING - PetrolIshighlytiammable.
- Storefuelincontalneraspecificallydesignedforthis
purpose.
- Refueloutdoorsonlyand donot smokewhile refu-
eling.
- AdOfuel beforestartingthe engine. Never remove
thecapofthefuel tank oraddpetrolwhile the engine
isrunningorwhenthe engineIs hot.
- Ifpetrolisspilled,do notattemptto startthe engine
butmovethemachineawayfrom theareaofspillage
andavoidcreatingany sourceof Ignitionuntilpetrel
vaporshavedissipated.
-Replace all fuel tanks and container caps se-
curely.
• Replacefaulty silencers.
• Beforeusing,alwaysvisuallyInspectto see that the
blades,bladeboltsand cutterassemblyare notworn
ordamaged. Replacewomor damagedbladesand
boltsInsetstopreservebalance.
• On multi-bladadmachines,take care as rotatingone
bladecancauseotherbladesto rotate.
III, Operation
• Do notoperatetheengineIna confined spacewhere
dangerouscarbonmonoxidefumes cancollect.
• MowonlyIn daylight or Ingoodartificiallight.
• Avoidoperatingthe equipment in wet grass, where
feasible.
• Alwaysbesureofyourfooting onslopes.
• Walk,neverrun
• Forwheeledrotarymachlnes,mow acrossthefaceof
slopes,neverup anddown.
• Exemisaextremecautionwhen changingdirectionon
slopes.
• Do notmowexcessivelysteepslopes
• Use extreme caution when reversingor pullingthe
lawnmowertowardsyou.
• Stop the blade ifthe lawnmowarhasto be tiltedfur
transportationwhencrossingsudacesotherthangrass,
andwhentransportingthe lawnmowertoandfromthe
areato bemowed.
• Neveroparatathelawnmowerwithdefectiveguarda,or
withoutsafetydevices,forexampledeflectorsand/or
grasscatchers, inplace.
• Do notchangethe enginegovernorsettings or over-
speed theengine.Operatingthe engineat excessive
speed may increasethe hazardof personalinjury.
• Disengageallbladeanddriveclutchesbeforestarting
the engine.
• Start the engineor switchon themotorcarefully ac-
cordingto instructionsand with feet wall away from
the blade.
• Donot tlitthe lawnmowerwhenstartingthe engineor
switchingon the motor, exceptifthe lawnmowarhas
to be tiltedforstarting. In thiscase, do not tiltmore
than absolutelynecessaryandliftonlythe part which
Isawayfromthe operator.
• Do notstartthe enginewhen standinginfront ofthe
dischargechute.
• Donotputhandsorfeet near orunderrotatingparts
Keepclearofthedischargeopeningat ell times.
• Neverpickuporcarrylawnmowerwhile the engineIs
running.
• Stoptheengineanddisconnectthespark plugwire:
- beforecleaningblockagesor uncloggingchute;
- beforechecking,cleaningor workingon the lawn-
mower;
- afterstdklnga foreignobject.Inspectthe lawnmower
fordamageandmakerepairsbeforerestartingand
operatingthe lawnmower;
- Ifthelawnmowerstartsto vibrateabnormally(check
Immediately).
• Stoptheengine:
- wheneveryouleavethelawnmower;
- beforerefuelling.
• Reducethe throttlesettingduringengineshutdown
and,ifthe engineisprovidedwitha shut-offvalve,turn
the fuel offat theconclusionof mowing.
• Go slowwhenusinga trailingseat.
IV. Maintenance and Storage
• Keep all nuts,bolts and screwstightto be surethe
equipmentis insafeworkingcondition.
Neverstoretheequipmentwithpetrelinthetank inside
a buildingwherefumesmay reachan open flame or
spark.
• Allowthe engineto coolbeforestoringinany enclo-
sure.
• To reducethefire hazard,keepthe engine,silencer,
batterycompartment and petrolstoragearea free of
grass,leaves,or excessivegrease.
Checkthegrasscatcher frequently for wearor date-
rioration
• Replacewornor damagedpartsforeafaty.
• Ifthefueltankhastobe drained,thisshouldhedone
outdoors.
