Usage Features

Assembly: The assembly process is divided into three steps:

  1. Step 1 (Base Assembly): Begin by assembling the base of the Ladder Ball frame using Weighted Base Tubes (#1), White Medium Poles (#5), White Short Poles (#7), and White T Joints (#9). This forms a rectangular base for stability.
  2. Step 2 (Top Frame Assembly): Assemble the vertical ladder sections. The top section uses Blue Long Poles (#2), Blue Elbows (#8), Scoring Rings (#13), and Scoring Systems (#14). The middle section uses Orange Long Poles (#3) and Orange T Joints (#10). The lower section uses Yellow Long Poles (#4), Yellow T Joints (#11), and White Medium Poles (#6). It is crucial to ensure the top section is blue, the middle is orange, and the lower section is yellow for proper scoring and visual identification. This step is repeated for the second ladder toss frame.
  3. Step 3 (Placement): Once both frames are assembled, place them in the desired playing location, ensuring the recommended 15-foot distance (or adjusted distance for children) between them.

Gameplay:

  • Preparation: Set the two ladder platforms 15 feet apart.
  • Tossing: Each player tosses 3 bolas at the opposing ladder. The first player throws all 3 bolas, then the next player throws theirs. Partners will then total scores and take turns. The team with the highest score throws first in subsequent rounds.
  • Throwing Style: Bolas can be thrown in any manner, individually, and can bounce off the ground.
  • Winning: The game ends when a player reaches exactly 21 points. To win, a player must be the only person to score exactly 21 points.
  • Over-scoring: If a player scores over 21 points in a round, those points do not count for that round, and their score reverts to what it was before that round. For example, if a player has 18 points and scores 5, their score remains 18, and they still need 3 points to win.
  • Ties: In case of a tie, players must continue playing until one player scores 2 or more points higher than all other players. This 2-point rule applies only in overtime rounds. During regular play, any player can win by reaching exactly 21 points, regardless of other players' scores.

Scoring:

  • Point Calculation: Points are determined by bolas that remain hanging on the ladder rungs after all players have tossed their bolas.
  • Rung Values:
    • Top rung: 3 points
    • Middle rung: 2 points
    • Bottom rung: 1 point
  • Knocking Off Bolas: Players can knock off opponents' bolas, which is encouraged as defensive play. Bolas knocked off during play do not count towards point totals.
  • Bonus Points: An optional bonus point can be scored by:
    • Hanging all 3 bolas on the same rung in a round.
    • Hanging one bola on each of the three rungs (1-2-3) in a round.
  • Maximum Points per Round: The highest possible score for a player in one round is 10 points (achieved by hanging all 3 bolas on the top 3-point rung, plus a bonus point).
