Cleaning the upholstery
Removing stains on fabric upholstery
For soiled fabric upholstery, it is recommended to use a special cleaning agent,
available from your Crawler dealer. Other chemicals may damage the re resis-
tance of the upholstery.
- Never try to remove the stain by scraping or rubbing.
- Never use strong stain remover.
- Wash with a mild soap solution and warm water.
Repairing paint damage
Paint
Paint is an important factor against rust and should be checked regularly. Dama-
ge to the paint needs to be repaired immediately before it starts to rust. Here are
the most common types of paint damage you can repair:
- Minor stone chips and scratches
- Damages around the wheels and door sills.
Rust protection
Control and Maintenance:
Your Crawler is fully protected against rust at the factory.
There are two effective ways to prevent your vehicle from rusting:
- Keep your car clean! Clean by spraying water with the hose. When washing with
high pressure water, keep the end of the hose at least 30 cm away from painted
surfaces!
- Check the rust protective layer of your vehicle regularly and perform the neces-
sary maintenance.
If you want to do the rustproong yourself, clean and dry the area in question.
Using the hose, ush the batteries with water, wash and dry the vehicle comple-
tely. Use a rustproong agent applied with a spray or brush.
