PREPARATION

FOR

USE

UNPACKING

AND

INSPECTION

Whe~

unpacking

the

instrument,

inspect

the

shipping

container

and

the

instrument

for

shipping

damage.

Save

the

shipping

carton

and

packing

material

for

possible

future

use.

The

instrument

was

inspected,

given

final

operational

and

control

tests,

then

carefully

packaged

for

shipment,

and

operate

in

accordance

with

Section

3

of

this

manual.

The

instrument

operation

is

selectable

for

100/120/220/240

VAC,

primary

power

sources.

The

three

conductor

power

cord

provides

a

ground

connection

when

it

is

connected

to

the

proper

outlet.

The

instrument

can

also

be

operated

from

11.8

VDC

to

15.2

VDC

or

with

an

optional

12

volt

rechargable

battery.

The

external

DC

source

should

be

connected

to

the

"EXT

+12

V

IN"

jack

on

the

rear

panel.

The

plug

(not

supplied

with

the

instrument>

should

be

a

Switchcraft

S-760

or

equivalent

with

the

negative

potential

on

the

sleeve

of

the

connector.
