YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
MTDConsumerGroupInc,the UnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA),and, forthose productscertifiedfor sale in the stateofCalifornia,the
CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoard(CARB)are pleasedto explainthe emission(evaporativeand/or exhaust)controlsystem(ECS)warrantyonyouroutdoor2006
andlater smalloff-roadspark-ignitedengineandequipment(outdoorequipmentengine)InCalifornia,new outdoorequipmentenginesmustbedesigned,builtand
equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards(inotherstates, 1997andlater modelyear equipmentmustbedesigned,built,and equippedto meet
theU.S. EPAsmalloff-road,sparkignitionengineregulations.MTDConsumerGroupIncmustwarrantthe ECSonyour outdoorequipmentenginefor the periodof
timelisted belowprovidedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof outdoorequipmentengine.
YourECSmayincludepartssuchas thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,canisters,
filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,andotherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Wherea warrantableconditionexists,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill repairyouroutdoorequipmentengineatnocost toyouincludingdiagnosis,partsand labor.
MAN UFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrolsystemis warrantedfor two years.If anyemission-relatedpartonyouroutdoorequipmentengineisdefective,the part will berepairedor
replacedby MTDCONSUMERGROUPINC.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youare responsiblefor performanceofthe requiredmaintenancelistedinyour owner'smanual.MTDConsumerGroup
Increcommendsthat youretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyouroutdoorequipmentengine,butMTDConsumerGroupInc cannotdeny warrantysolely
forthe lackof receipts.
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youshouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroupInc maydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyour outdoorequipment
engineor a parthasfaileddue to abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyouroutdoorequipmentengineto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenterorservicecenteras soon asthe problem
exists.Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountoftime, notto exceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,
youshouldcontactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310orvia emailat http://support.mtdproducts.com
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat theoutdoorequipmentengineis: Designed,builtand equipped
so asto conformwithall applicableregulations;and freefromdefectsin materialsand workmanshipthatcausethe failureof a warrantedpartto be identicalin all
materialrespectstothat part as describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedate theoutdoorequipmentengineis deliveredto anultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwo
years.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsasstatedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedpartsis asfollows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthat is notscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssupplied,is warrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe partfails duringthe periodof warrantycoverage,thepartwill berepairedor replacedbyMTDConsumerGroupInc accordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledonly for regularinspectionin the writteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedforthe warrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedforthe remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssuppliediswarrantedfor the periodof timebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If the partfails beforethefirst scheduledreplacement,the partwill berepairedorreplacedby MTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainderofthe periodpriortothe
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor thepart.
4. Repairor replacementofanywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedat a warrantystationat no chargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill beprovidedatallof our distributioncentersthatare franchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Theoutdoorequipmentengineownerwill notbe chargedfor diagnosticlaborthat isdirectlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwar-
rantedpart, providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedata warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc isliablefor damagesto otherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failureunderwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe off-roadengineand equipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupInc will maintainasupplyofwarrantedparts sufficientto
meetthe expecteddemandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpartmaybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbeprovidedwithoutchargetothe owner.Suchusewill
notreducethe warrantyobligationsof MTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are notexemptedbythe AirResourcesBoardmaynot beused.Theuseofany non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsby the
ultimatepurchaserwill begroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbeliableto warrantfailuresof warrantedpartscaused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
