High-voltage battery
Note
Depending on the power supplied by the so-
lar installation and the household's instan-
taneous electricity consumption, the charg-
ing process may start earlier than usual and
continue later. If necessary, the vehicle au-
tomatically regulates the available charging
phases for safety reasons.
Current monitor
The instantaneous current ow in the home
is monitored. Before overloading the house’s
power grid, the vehicle automatically reduces
the charging current.
Bidirectional Charging
Prerequisites
Vehicle with 77 kWh net battery capacity.
Compatible home energy management sys-
tem (HEMS) and two-directional DC charging
station.
A charging location (Routine) has been cre-
ated in the Infotainment system.
Note
Ask specialist personnel for conrmation
about a suitable home energy management
system. It is recommended to use a CUPRA
partner.
Functionality
The home energy management system con-
trols the high-voltage battery charging or dis-
charging process, as necessary.
In the Infotainment system you can choose
between the charging modes Bi-directional
charging (charging and discharging) and dis-
charging (discharging only) of the high-volt-
age battery.
To limit the energy transferred, set the battery
charge levels in the Infotainment system. The
lower battery charge level is limited to 20% for
technical reasons.
It is not possible to schedule a charge for a
departure time.
In addition, the home energy management
system can use electricity from the high-volt-
age battery in the event of a power failure or to
power a home without a grid connection.
Note
Read and follow the home energy manage-
ment system’s user and operating manual.
Selecting the charging mode
1. Press the drop-down list of charging
modes and select Bi-directional Charging
or Discharging ›››page80.
The charging or discharging process starts
automatically.
2. Check the desired battery charge level in
the charging routine prole.
Note
It can read the amount of power drawn
from the home energy management system.
The vehicle discharges with a maximum
power of around 10kW.
The use of the function is limited to avoid
excessive wear of the high voltage battery.
When the maximum values on the operat-
ing hours meter (4,000h) and energy quan-
tity meter (10,000kWh) have been reached
in the Settingsmenu, contact the technical
service.
Charging cable
Introduction
The type of charging cable supplied with the
vehicle depends on the delivery volume and
the specic technical specications of each
country, e.g. charging connector connections
for power sockets.
CUPRA recommends exclusively using the
supplied charging cable.
