Heating, ventilation and cooling
Air conditioning
Heating, ventilation and
cooling
Introduction
The 2-zone Climatronic heats, ventilates,
cools and dehumidies the passenger com-
partment considering it as 2 independent air
conditioning areas (driver and front passen-
ger).
The air conditioning can be switched on by
tapping any button in the air conditioning
menu directly related to the air conditioning
(for example temperatures, , , etc.).
The use of certain functions that are not di-
rectly related to the operation of the air con-
ditioning, such as the heated rear window for
example, will not result in the air conditioning
being switched on immediately.
Optimal air conditioning performance is ach-
ieved when the vehicle interior is closed. If a
great deal of heat accumulates in the interior,
ventilating it can accelerate the cooling proc-
ess.
Some functions and menu tabs depend on the
equipment.
Operating the air conditioning with voice
commands
Depending on the equipment, some of the
air conditioning functions can be operated by
voice control ›››page256.
Passenger recognition function
The passenger recognition function turns
down the air conditioning in these areas if no
occupation is detected in them, with the aim
of reducing the vehicle’s energy consumption.
When the drive system is on, the vehicle rec-
ognises whether a person is sitting in a seat in
the vehicle with a seatbelt fastened.
The turning down of the air conditioning is in-
dicated as follows:
●
Front passenger area: on the front passenger
temperature setting, which will display ECO in-
stead of the selected temperature.
Dust and pollen lter
The dust and pollen lter with its activated
charcoal cartridge serves as a barrier against
impurities in the air taken into the vehicle inte-
rior.
The dust and pollen lter must be changed
regularly so that air conditioner performance is
not adversely aected.
If the
lter loses eiciency prematurely due
to use in areas with very high levels of air
pollution, the lter must be changed more fre-
quently than stated in the Service Schedule.
WARNING
Reduced visibility through the windows in-
creases the risk of serious accidents.
●
Always ensure that all windows are free of
ice and snow, and that they are not fogged,
so as to maintain good visibility of everything
outside.
●
Only drive when you have good visibility.
●
Always ensure that you use the air condi-
tioner and heated rear window to maintain
good visibility.
●
Never leave the air recirculation on for a
long period of time. If the cooling system
is switched o and air recirculation mode
switched on, the windows can mist over very
quickly, considerably limiting visibility.
●
Switch air recirculation mode o when it is
not required.
NOTICE
Food, medicines and other objects sensitive
to heat or cold may be damaged or made
unsuitable for use by the air coming from the
vents.
●
Never place food, medicines or other tem-
perature-sensitive objects close to the air
vents.
