Energy recuperation with the steering wheel levers
When the TCS is disconnected, the drive
wheels may skid, especially if the road is wet,
slippery or dirty. This may mean that the ve-
hicle can't be steered or controlled.
WARNING
If the vehicle is left unattended with the drive
system connected, accidents and serious in-
juries can occur.
Never leave the vehicle unattended with
the drive system connected.
Always switch o the ignition. When doing
so, the electronic parking brake is applied
automatically.
When parking or leaving the vehicle, always
check that the electronic parking brake is
applied.
When leaving the vehicle, always make sure
that all the doors, windows, rear lid and bon-
net are fully closed and locked.
When the drive system is switched on and
gear position D/B or R is selected, the vehicle
should be stopped by depressing the brake
pedal.
Never engage reverse gear while the vehi-
cle is in motion.
NOTICE
When stopping uphill while a gear is se-
lected, do not depress the accelerator to
prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards.
Press the brake pedal to avoid unnecessarily
overloading the electric drive system.
Never allow the vehicle to move with the
neutral position N selected, especially when
the drive system is switched o.
Troubleshooting
Electric drive system overheated
The warning lamp lights up red.

possible and safe to do so.
Disconnect the drive system.
Do not top up coolant!

and braking energy cannot be re-
cuperated
The control lamps light up yellow.
There is a failure in the brake energy recupera-
tion. Range may be limited.
Contact a specialised workshop.
NOTICE
The electric drive system may be damaged if
the vehicle is moved while the ignition and
electric drive system switched o, or with the
12-volt battery discharged for a long period
of time, or if driven at high speed. The vehi-

Energy recuperation with
the steering wheel levers
Fig.107 Multi-function steering wheel:
energy recuperation levers.
The energy generated during braking is stored
in the high-voltage battery during recupera-
tion. With a higher level of recuperation, the
braking force also increases after the accelera-
tor pedal is released.
