Automatic recuperation
●
Select mode D on the gear selector lever.
●
Activate the automatic recuperation ECO as-
sist ›››page173.
The instrument cluster display shows A.
●
Pressing the steering wheel levers or tem-
porarily activates the manual selection of the
energy recuperation level.›››Fig.107 Auto-
matic recuperation is reactivated by pressing
the accelerator pedal again.
When automatic recuperation is selected
›››page173, the only possible way that the
steering wheel levers react is for retention.
Note
The steering wheel levers will not perform
any function in the following cases:
●
While pressing the accelerator with ECO
Assist activated.
●
Gear selector in position B.
●
ACC activated.
●
When the accelerator pedal is released, the
automatic recuperation adjusts the braking
energy recuperation intensity to suit the cur-
rent driving situation.
●
Automatic recuperation can also take
place in Mode B of the gear selector lever
with the ACC switched on. The instrument
cluster displays A.
Selecting the recuperation level manually
●
Select mode D on the gear selector lever.
●
Deactivate the automatic recuperation ECO
assist ›››page173.
●
Select the energy recuperation level with the
steering wheel levers or ›››Fig.107.
–
Tap to choose a higher recuperation
level.
–
Tap to choose a lower recuperation level.
Note
If no recuperation level is selected, the vehi-
cle will move without recuperation braking
after the accelerator pedal is released.

Automatic recuperation
When in manual recuperation mode, the in-
strument cluster will display a warning about
the recuperation level.
Selecting mode
B on the gear selector lever
provides a level of recuperation each time the
accelerator pedal is released equivalent to the
high recuperation level.
Selecting Performance or CUPRA driving
mode automatically activates the medium re-
cuperation level. This recuperation level is ac-
tivated each time the accelerator pedal is re-
leased and remains active until a recuperation
level is selected with the steering wheel levers.
Note
●
The more the high-voltage battery is
charged: the less braking power the recuper-
ation system will have.
●
Recuperation also takes place when the
brake pedal is depressed.
WARNING
High recuperation of braking energy can
cause a loss of traction or the vehicle to skid,
especially on slippery roads. This can cause
loss of control of the vehicle and lead to acci-
dents and serious or fatal injuries.
●
Activate high recuperation of braking en-
ergy continuously only if visibility, weather,
road and traic conditions permit, and if
other road users are not at risk due to your
vehicle's deceleration behaviour and driving
style.
