Automatic ignition disconnection
When the vehicle detects that there is no
driver once the engine has stopped, after a
certain time the ignition is switched o au-
tomatically. If at that time the dipped beam
headlights are on, the side lights will stay
on for approx. 30 minutes. The side lights
can be turned o by blocking the vehicle
›››page102, or manually ›››page128.
Automatic deactivation of the ignition on
vehicles with the Start-Stop system
The ignition is switched o automatically when
the vehicle is stopped and the automatic en-

the driver's seat belt is not fastened,
the driver does not step on any pedal,
the driver door is opened.
After automatically turning
o the ignition, if
the dipped beam is on, the side light re-
mains on for approx. 30 minutes (if the battery
has enough charge). If the driver locks the ve-

Function “My Beat”
1)
For vehicles with a convenience key there is
the “My Beat” function. This feature provides
an additional indication of the vehicle ignition
system.
When entering the vehicle, the start button
›››Fig.118 ashes to draw attention to it.
When the ignition is on/o, the engine start
button ashes.
With the ignition is switched o, the start but-
ton goes o after a few seconds.
With the engine running, the start button light
stays on, indicating that the engine is running.
The time elapsed between the moment the
user starts the engine with the start button and
the lighting changes from
ashing to xed will
depend on specic engine size characteristics.
When the start button is used to stop the en-
gine, the button starts ashing again.
In vehicles with the Start-Stop system, the
“My Beat” function also oers additional infor-
mation:
When the engine stops during the Stop
phase, the light of the start button stays on,
as the Start-Stop system remains active even
though the engine is o.
When the engine cannot be started again
with the Start-Stop system ›››page174 and
needs to be started manually, the start button
ashes to indicate this situation.
