Operating mode selection
1)
The displayed symbol varies depending on the active operating mode and the charge level of the high-voltage battery.

The high voltage battery has a suicient
charge level.
The vehicle speed is lower than 130 km/h
(80 mph).
The high voltage battery temperature is
above -10°C.
If, while driving in Electric mode, the necessary
conditions are no longer met, the combustion
engine starts and electric driving is suspended.
In this case, the indicator lights up on the
instrument cluster display.
The combustion engine starts when a kick-
down occurs in Electric mode. However, Elec-
tric mode remains on.
Hybrid mode (use the battery's charge)
1)
This is the operating mode that allows you to
save most fuel.
The operating mode control unit tries to make
the most of the battery charge. For this pur-
pose, with active directions the navigation data
are also accessed.
In this operating mode, the electric motor and
the combustion engine share the work of driv-
ing the vehicle.
In hybrid operating mode, the power from
the battery charge is used optimally. If route
guidance is activated, the vehicle may auton-
omously recharge the high-voltage battery us-
ing the combustion engine.
Manual control of the battery charge
Manual control of the battery charge is only
possible in Hybrid mode. The option selected
by the user is only valid until the ignition is
switched o or the vehicle is switched to Hy-
brid mode or Electric mode.
Key to ›››Fig.120:
The horizontal bar can be used to select a
lower theoretical charge level of the high
voltage battery. The system does not al-
low the selection of a higher charge level
than the one that is displayed. The vehi-
cle only uses the battery's charge when it
is above the selected theoretical charge
level. The rest is kept until the end of the
journey.
Maintain the battery level . The high-
voltage battery charge level is kept at
around the current level while driving. If
you accelerate harder or increase the ve-
hicle speed, the combustion engine starts
up. When permitted by the driver’s de-
mand for acceleration and the vehicle
speed, the vehicle switches back to elec-
tric mode.
CUPRA recommends using the charging
socket to charge the high-voltage battery,
whenever possible ›››page77.
Adjust the recovery level. Allows you to
select between dierent levels of recov-
ery: Smooth, Auto or Strong. If there is
no active route, the system will
oer the
activation of a predictive route to run in a
more eicient hybrid mode.
Show the active operating mode
The operating mode active at any given time
is displayed on the instrument cluster display,
e.g. .
WARNING
Switching to a dierent operating mode
while driving can distract you from traic
conditions and cause accidents.
Note
Information about the operating mode that
is currently active is displayed on the instru-
ment cluster display, along with the charge
level of the high-voltage battery.
Troubleshooting
Valid for: hybrid vehicles
Electric Mode is not available
The indicator lamp lights up in white.
The electric mode
(driving in electric mode)
cannot be used temporarily because one or
more conditions are not met.
